This is where I study for my final on Monday and you all get the benefits of my studying. Anatomy is a way of life. At least until the final is done and I have to begin studying something else. Yeah, sounds about right.
Let's just say its a good thing I'm single because free time right now is not an option.

Bones of the Neurocranium and face
To answer your question; yes, this is all my art based off of textbook and lecture notes. Otherwise pretty self explanatory. Name the parts of the bone of the skull. Trust me - it gets more complicated.
Cranial Nerves exiting the canine skull
(Yeah, you have to name the holes too)
This is a twisted dorsal-lateral view of the skull. Rostral (towards the nose) is the right side of the picture and caudal is the left. Landmarks would be the lovely zygomatic arch on the top of the picture and the tympanic bullae at the bottom left.
So, as we enjoy adding information in little bits. The Trigeminal nerve (V) splits into three branches; opthalmic nerve, maxillary nerve, and mandibular nerve. Opthalmic exits via orbital fissure; maxillary via rostral alar foramen; and mandibular via oval foramen.

Cranial Nerves and the Brainstem
I got a tad lazy here. I did not draw the surrounding brain. The olfactory bulb is found at the most rostral part of the brain from this CN I (Olfactory) exits and is found at the top of my image. The brainstem eventually becomes the spinal cord and runs dorsally. As per usual, follow the picture its pretty self-explanatory. I drew the nerves in order and if you look at the base or origin of each nerve they actually go in order - if you can remember how to count them. |
Summary
Well, after completing all this I am feeling pretty great! Please let me know if I have made any mistakes or if you have any questions just comment below and I will remedy them as soon as I can. I hope you enjoy my addiction to colourful diagrams.
